Stewardship has always been a hallmark of the larger Presbyterian Church. This church’s Stewardship Committee and the Treasurer have been entrusted to monitor the Church finances. We aim to provide careful and responsible management of funds to support the church’s mission, expressed through its multiple programs and activities.
GENEROSITY
Being generous with our money is a reflection of our gratitude to God and of God’s loving concern for all in need. It is a means of continuing Jesus’ ministry in the world. It also demonstrates our willingness to share our blessings with those who are less fortunate and to contribute to causes that align with our beliefs and principles. It is a tangible way to contribute to the greater good and create a more just society. It enables us to address pressing social issues and is a tool for social changes.
STEWARDSHIP
Our committee’s most important job is to prepare and implement a budget to allocate the funds we receive from the our members and friends in a careful and meaningful way. We study and evaluate the following when preparing the budget and spending our resources:
- Personnel: Plan for competitive and fair wages for our Pastor and Staff.
- Administrative Overhead: Factor in costs for insurance, utilities, supplies, etc.
- Building Expenses: Roof and sidewalk repair, boiler maintenance, annual inspections, etc. The building serves as a place not only for worship but also, in spirit of generosity, for community events and meetings for causes that align with out principles and beliefs.
- Christian Education: Biblical and issue education for all ages.
- Earth and Social Justice: Mission and outreach in our community, i.e.: aid to unhoused, hungry, and victims of abuse.
- Parish Life and Hospitality: Building fellowship in our church family, where all ages can join for mutual fun and enrichment.
- Wordship: Provide for weekly inspirational worship service, often with guest pastors and special musicians, and involving our vocal and bell choirs for the enjoyment of a live and online audience.
- Support for the ministry of our denomination, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
In addition, we encourage our members and friends to consider making a pledge to support the church’s mission and ministry as well as planning a legacy gift to continue the work of the church for future generations. Please see the Give page if you would like to contribute.
