The Christian Education Committee strives to educate the members and friends of our church to become God’s love in the community.
We provide care for all ages, starting with a nursery for infants, and Christian Education for preschoolers and young children. Koinonia, our Sunday School class, begins immediately following the children’s time during worship. Children participate in their own Christian education experience, learning the stories of the Hebrew scriptures and the Gospels.
Youth activities are offered at various times of the year, led by the pastor and volunteers. Activities include hiking and camping trips, ski/snowboarding trips, and get togethers for movie and meals at different homes.
Family Movie Nights have become a highlight during the year where our children, youth and families can get together, enjoy a movie and have some fun.
Periodically, the Committee offers a Parents Night Out for church families and friends, so that parents get a night out without children, and the children enjoy a night of snacks, games, crafts and movies without their parents.
Adult education is a large part of the continuing Christian Education in our church. The Sunday Book Group meets every couple of months to read and discuss a particular book. The most recent study was of the book entitled Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover. The book selections are diverse and thought provoking, ranging from memoirs, to spirituality, to Biblical studies.
Small groups are regularly offered during Advent and Lent. This year’s Lenten group is studying, A Clearing Season: Reflections for Lent by Sarah Parsons.
At various times during the year, a small group of women meet for approximately six weeks to study and discuss different books of the Bible. The Tuesday Women’s Bible Study is held at the homes of those women who are participating the Bible Study, and it is open to any woman who wishes to join.
