I have served as Treasurer since January, 2017. My first task was to convert the church’s financial records from a homebrew Excel-based accounting system to QuickBooks. With the help of a professional bookkeeper, we now have a working accounting system and she continues to generate checks, prepare payrolls, log contributions and reconcile the books while I provide oversight. Of course, our Stewardship and Finance Committee and the Session keeps an eye on what I do!

For me, First Presbyterian Church of Cottage Grove is more than a place of worship; it is a community of thoughtful individuals who share similar beliefs and values and care for one another. Our church is a lively part of our community. I am fortunate to be able to connect to so many organizations within Cottage Grove, because of my relation to our church. I feel “at home” among the warm faces that greet me each week. My role as Nursery Supervisor allows me to build relationships with our church’s youngest members. [Read more...]
